DECISION
ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF PHU QUOC ECONOMIC ZONE, KIEN GIANG PROVINCE
Pursuant to the December 25, 2001 Law on Government organization;
Pursuant to the November 29, 2005 Law on investment;
Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 29/2008/ND-CP dated March 14, 2008 providing for industrial parks, export processing zones and economic zones;  
At the proposal of the Minister of Planning and Investment and People’s Committee of Kien Giang province;
The Prime Minister promulagtes Decision on the establishment of Phu Quoc economic zone, Kien Giang province,
Article 1. To establish Phu Quoc economic zone, Kien Giang province

1. Phu Quoc economic zone of Kien Giang province is coastal economic zone. Boundary includes whole Phu Quoc island district with urban areas: Duong Dong town, An Thoi town and 8 communes: Cua Can, Ganh Dau, Bai Thom, Ham Ninh, Cua Duong, Duong To, Tho Chau and Hon Thom communes (including whole cluster of islands in the Souhth of An Thoi). Natural area of Phu Quoc economic zone is 58,923 ha.
2. Phu Quoc economic zone is organized in non-tariff zone and tarriff zone. Non-tariff zone is area defined in association with An Thoi port and Phu Quoc airport and tariff zone is the remaining area includes functional zones: Tourist, service and port zones and logistic service port zone, industrial park, urban area, resident area, administrative area and other functional areas. Scale, position of each area are defined in the Decision No. 1197/QD-TTg dated November 09, 2005 of the Prime Minister on approving the building general planning of Phu Quoc island, Kien Giang province till 2020 and the Decision No. 633/QD-TTg dated May 11, 2010 of the Prime Minister, approving amendments to the building general planning of Phu Quoc island till 2030.

Article 2. Organization, operation and mechanisms, policies applied to Phu Quoc economic zone of Kien Giang province shall comply with the Law on investment, the Government’s Decree No. 29/2008/ND-CP dated March 14, 2008 providing for industrial parks, export processing zones and economic zones and other relevant legal documents. 
Article 3. Implementation provisions

1. This Decision takes effect on July 10, 2013.
2. Minister, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of Governmental agencies, the President of the People’s Committee of Kien Giang province shall implement this Decision.
